About GOBS

The Greater Omaha Barbeque Society (GOBS) was formed in 1992 to promote the art and science of genuine barbeque in the Omaha area and to organize the first-ever annual State Barbeque Championship of Nebraska.

At the first GOBS meeting, a baker’s dozen of barbeque mavens only dreamed of what could be. Today, the dream is a reality, as membership has grown to over 200 individual members and 15 businesses!

GOBS publishes its own newspaper, Drippings, and members meet once a month at varying barbeque venues to conduct club business, plan upcoming activities, and most importantly, eat some mighty fine barbeque!
